Terms of service
Last updated: 10 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and IPPO RE (“we”, “us”), the operator of Ground Truth. By creating an account or using the service — on the web or over WhatsApp — you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What Ground Truth is
Ground Truth is a research tool for land in Tamil Nadu. It brings together land records, maps, zoning information, and related documents around a location, and can retrieve certain documents for you on request. Coverage is currently centred on Coimbatore district and grows over time; not every record type is available for every area.
Your account
You need an account to use the tools. Keep your sign-in method secure — you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 to use the service.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to harass or defraud anyone.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract data from the service, or resell or redistribute its data or documents as a competing offering.
- Interfere with the service's operation, probe its security, or access it by any means other than the interfaces we provide.
- Present information from the service as a certified or government-issued record.
We may limit the number of requests an account can make in a period to keep the service working for everyone.
About the records
The information in Ground Truth is compiled from publicly available government records and is provided for reference and research. Source records change, and compilation can introduce gaps or errors — so information in the service may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate, and boundaries shown on maps are indicative, not a survey.
Nothing in the service is legal advice, a certified copy, or a title opinion. Before buying, selling, lending against, or building on land, verify the records with the relevant government office and take professional advice.
Documents we retrieve for you
Some tools retrieve documents at your request. Retrieval depends on systems outside our control, so a request can take time or occasionally fail; where a fetch fails we will say so in the product. You are responsible for ensuring you are entitled to request the documents you ask for.
Fees
Parts of the service may be paid. Prices will be shown to you before you commit to any charge. We may change pricing with notice.
Intellectual property
The service — its software, design, and the compilations we create — belongs to us. We grant you a limited, non-transferable right to use it under these terms. The underlying public records remain public; these terms do not restrict your rights in information you obtain directly from government sources.
Availability and termination
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we may change or withdraw features. You can stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for decisions made in reliance on information from the service; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will update the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the product or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
